I was at an event last week when we were given an analogy which represents the change in our telecoms world. As you probably know, M12 Solutions and the bulk of our industry have been selling phone systems, some of us since the 80’s, when BT’s monopoly was broken. Then a few years ago when internet connectivity improved and we started to consume business applications via a subscription model, hosted telephony was either focused towards the very big enterprise or very small businesses.
Here at M12, we’ve embraced all approaches and now that all our system sales have evolved to a ‘hosted first’ approach to give customers the flexibility and scalability they want these days, our marketing communications is moving to stress this even more. But why? Well, here’s that analogy.
Say you pull up in your car at a really nice hotel, it’s a special treat with your special other half and you want all to be easy. You step out, your bags are unloaded and you give your keys to the man from concierge who you trust will take it away and park it. You don’t ask whether he’s a good driver, if he’s insured, which car park he’ll use, which floor and how close he will get to the next car. You just trust that if it’s a very good hotel then they will have made sure they have done everything to ensure you will get your car back properly and when you want it.
We understand that our subscription based customers know we’ve been in business for many years and also have this trusted view of M12 Solutions. They just want to pay an amount per month for a service which is well-featured, reliable, flexible and good value; which meets their business needs of today, plus those they can foresee and maybe some they can’t.
M12 is like a top quality boutique hotel which has great staff, wonderful rooms, food and drink – just substitute these with great hosted systems and services. 2017 is an exciting time for M12; we will be building on recent successes in the connectivity space to make sure our single source approach is as good as you can get. Plus, we’ll be making our offering even easier to buy and flexibly consume. Almost as easy as handing over your keys to get your car parked.
