One month at M12…can only be described as refreshing. I have just started as a Network Engineer, having previously done the same job at BT. Coming from such a large and slow moving organisation such as BT, I can’t help but feel slightly liberated working for a smaller, sprightlier company, in which the director works in the same office!
Large companies such as BT are plagued with the inability to be dynamic and at times fail to invest in ideas which actually work due to the fragmentation between teams. However here at M12 it most definitely feels like one unit, one team no matter which area you work in, which is a nice feel.
I most definitely feel at home and at ease here; the tools are easy to use, collaboration is tight and visibility of the end to end process can be easily seen. This is all paired nicely with a great ticketing system which helps work to flow properly… believe me I’ve used some bad ones which will have you ripping out your hair!
Final thoughts… Work is work and the show must go on, it helps when you enjoy what you do but the icing on the cake is if you work with great people! So I’d like to say I feel like everyone here is super friendly and really helpful and it’s been a pleasure to work alongside you all. Without sounding too much like an Oscar award ceremony I would like to say a special thanks to Matt, Mike, Terri, Paris and Carlo for putting up with all my questions… hopefully we’re over the hard part, I promise they will get less!
